Festivals and fundraising
Richard began his 100 mile non-stop journey at 4.00pm on Wednesday 11th September from Freemasons Hall in London’s Covent Garden. He was seen off by Nick Edwards. the Head of Bedfordshire Freemasons, and other senior Freemasons.
The £3,500 raised was far above Richard’s original £2,000 target, and will go to the MCF, which last year gave £6.8 million to more than 450 charities across England and Wales.
Richard ran through Middlesex and Hertfordshire, then visited each of the Masonic Centres in Bedfordshire, culminating at The Keep in Kempston, Bedford at approximately 7.30am on Friday 13 September.
I’m thrilled that I managed to finish this arduous run and delighted I was able to raise cash for the MCF, which funds so many hugely important projects across the country. I can truly say that every single exhausting minute was worth it.
Many congratulations to Richard for his amazing achievement. We’re very grateful to him for passing the proceeds of his tremendous run to the MCF. We’ll be using the money in our programme of grants to fund vital charitable projects across England and Wales. Richard has proven that charity really is at the heart of Freemasonry.
