Bob returns to Daventry Area Community Transport (DACT)

Bob, a freemason from Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire, volunteered for 15 years at Daventry Area Community Transport (DACT) – a charity which supports older members of the community through various transport and mobility services. Bob is now a full-time carer for his wife so he isn’t able to keep up with regular volunteering, but we brought him back for just one more day to see how our support has made a difference to his friends at DACT.

After all these years, it’s so good to see that DACT is still doing it’s bit to support the community. As a freemason, I’m so proud that we’ve been able to play a part in tackling loneliness and social isolation. It really is a fantastic thing to be a part of.

MCF Community Awards

In 2017, DACT was nominated by Northamptonshire & Huntingdonshire freemasons to receive an MCF Community Award, and received a grant of £15,000. In this video we find out just how important the service is to the local elderly community

The Community Awards was a brilliant initiative which we were so pleased to have been a part of. The £15,000 secured the future of the dial-a-ride service, and we are reminded weekly about how much it’s needed by the number of people that book on the service. We’re just so grateful.
