Interim Grand Secretary and past President of the Masonic Samaritan Fund (MSF), Willie Shackell, visited the Province of Bristol to present several awards to its members for their outstanding contributions to the 2019 Festival Appeal.
Willie presented specially engraved Festival jewels to four members of Anchor Lodge who had recently achieved or pledged to achieve their individual Festival targets.
Anchor Lodge has already raised double its 2019 Festival target and was presented with a commemorative Charity Pillar Plaque to mark this tremendous accomplishment.
After the presentation, Willie dined with Lodge members and the Provincial Grand Master for the Province of Bristol, Alan Vaughan. Willie thanked all the Lodges in the Province for their fundraising efforts and voiced his confidence that the Province would have a successful Festival finale in April 2019.
The Bristol 2019 Festival Appeal is raising money for the health, care and research grants awarded by the MSF until April 2016. The MSF’s full range of grants and services is now provided by the Masonic Charitable Foundation.
Willie was presented with a 2019 Festival Firing glass by the Worshipful Master Stephen Huband as a memento of his visit.
