Devonshire Freemasons have raised an impressive £1,200 for North Devon Children’s Hospice at their annual weekend away.

Over one hundred Freemasons and their partners from around Devon spent the weekend enjoying the hospitality of The Esplanade Hotel in Newquay.

They gather there each year just to enjoy a weekend away in good company, eat too much and then dance some of it off during the course of the two evenings.

Two of the main organisers of the event, Mike Davis of the Brent Lodge of Topsham and his wife Lesley were then dispatched to Little Bridge House Children’s Hospice in Barnstaple where they presented the cheque to Zoe Mills who accepted it on behalf of the trust. Lesley and Mike were then given a tour of the house and grounds, which, in their words are fabulous and in an idyllic, tranquil and peaceful setting.

Since Little Bridge House opened, Freemasons have donated over £100,000 to help support the hospice and children who need end of life care.
