3. Applications for a grant to an individual

If an individual asks us to consider a request for assistance then the personal information they provide will be gathered processed and protected in accordance with the policy set out in our applicant grant award Fair Collection Statement.

4. How we will share your information

In order to deliver the service you have requested or to process your enquiry, the Masonic Charitable Foundation may transfer some of all of your information to a third party processor.

If you have requested updates on the work of the Masonic Charitable Foundation then your information may be shared with our e-newsletter service provider based in the USA in order to deliver the information.

If you make a payment to a Relief Chest, then your information may be shared with financial service providers in order to process your payment. Some or all of your information may also be shared with the relevant Relief Chest representative and / or the Provincial or Metropolitan Grand Lodge in order to provide reports on Festivals, Appeals and to manage honorifics.

Arrangements are made to ensure that any such information is treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

  • Through the joint application form, supporting documentation and specific requests for supplementary information; Through written reports from relevant health or social care professionals. We will always seek the consent of the applicant to obtain these reports.

  • To assess your eligibility for support from one or more of the Charities;

Some or all of the information you provide to us may be shared with the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution; a Lodge; or a Metropolitan, Provincial or District Grand Lodge; or associated Masonic charity, if we believe that one or more may be able to assist you and/or to facilitate payments following the award of a grant.

If you request mobility equipment or aids, we will work with a third party supplier to assess, supply and maintain items appropriate to your needs.

D. Visiting Volunteers

This statement sets out how the Masonic Charitable Foundation (“the Foundation”) (Registered charity number 1164703, Company number 09751836) gathers, processes and protects any personal information that you may provide us with when enquiring about the Visiting Volunteer role, applying to volunteer as a Visiting Volunteer and/or during the time you are volunteering as a Visiting Volunteer.

The Foundation is committed to ensuring that the information you provide to us is treated in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

  • Through the Visiting Volunteer application form, supporting documentation, background verification and reference checks and specific requests for supplementary information.

  • To consider your application to volunteer as a Visiting Volunteer and assess your suitability for the role.
  • To carry out background permission and verification checks. We will always seek your permission before carrying out such checks.
  • For management and administration purposes relevant to the Visiting Volunteer role;

Some or all of the information you provide to us may be shared with a Metropolitan, Provincial or District Grand Lodge to enable us to respond to your enquiry, consider your application, and for management and administration purposes relevant to the Visiting Volunteer role.
