The purpose of this Handbook is to introduce you to the commitments the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) makes to its staff, and the standards expected of you.

This Handbook does not form part of your Terms and Conditions of employment and the MCF may amend, add to or remove any policies at any time.  You are asked to read the Handbook carefully, together with your contract of employment.  In the event of any discrepancies between this handbook and your contract of employment, the wording in your contract takes precedence.

The MCF aim is to provide a professional, caring and well-organised service to its beneficiaries, our stakeholders and to the public.  For this objective to be reached, we believe in the importance of maintaining a well-trained, enthusiastic, and efficient group of staff who work well together.

To achieve this, the MCF aim to recognise your commitment, through fair pay, terms and conditions of employment; to recruit and promote within the organisation wherever possible; to listen to the views of staff; and to communicate the aims of the Charity and their management team.

This Handbook sets out the employment related policies and processes that you will find useful in your work and that form the basis of our expectations. These policies and processes will apply to you whilst you are working for us.  Save as stated otherwise, the policies and processes do not form part of your contract of employment.

If you are ever in any doubt about any aspect of your job or employment, please discuss this with your line manager and clarify any points of concern.
