Our voluntary Board of Trustees works together with our executive staff to ensure that the charity is effectively achieving its mission, using resources to maximum effect and upholding the core values that underpin our work. The Board of Trustees meets five times each year.

Deputy President and Chairman
Sir Paul Williams
Sir Paul Williams, OBE, KStJ, DL, was appointed as the new Deputy President and Chairman of the Trustees of the MCF in 2021. Sir Paul has had a distinguished career in the NHS, serving as Chief Executive of three Welsh NHS Trusts and finally as Chief Executive of NHS Wales 2009–2011. He is also a former Trustee of the Royal Voluntary Services and the Prior and Chair of the Board of Trustees of St John Ambulance in Wales. Sir Paul was previously the Chairman of the RMBI Care Company and was a founding Trustee of the MCF. He was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 2000 for services to the NHS in Wales and was knighted in the 2011 Birthday Honours.

Treasurer
Clive Emerson FCA
Clive was appointed a trustee of the MCF in June 2019 and Treasurer in August 2023. He is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in both corporate and not-for-profit organisations.
Clive was Chief Financial Officer of Help for Heroes and is now Chief Financial Officer of the Association of Corporate Treasurers, as well as a trustee of a number of charities. He is also Provincial Charity Steward to the Province of Wiltshire.
