As a precautionary response to the developing Coronavirus pandemic, the majority of Masonic Charitable Foundation staff are now working remotely.

Our response to telephone, post and email enquiries may take longer than usual.  We ask for your patience and cooperation during these unprecedented times.

Those individuals who may need our assistance for the first time can still contact us.  We would be grateful if enquiries are made via email whenever possible.

If you cannot email and your call goes to voicemail please be assured that the message has been received and we will respond – please do not make repeat calls.


We treat all enquiries and applications sympathetically and in the strictest confidence.

The application process has three steps:

1. Contact

Speak to your Lodge Almoner about applying for a grant or contact us directly to start your application.

Our enquiries team can offer confidential guidance on the financial, health, care and family help available and advise you about the process and criteria for making an application.

2. Response

If we think we can help and you would like to apply, a representative of the Foundation will visit you and help you to complete our application form.

A member of our grants department will let you know when your application has been received and keep you updated on its progress.

3. Outcome

You will be notified about the outcome of your application and, if it is approved, when a payment will be made directly to you or to the supplier providing the equipment or service you require.

If your application is not approved, we will try to direct you to other organisations that may be able to help.
