Grants to charities, Later life inclusion
Beverley Community Lift are using their £5,000 grant to help people get out and about in rural Yorkshire.
This grant helped to fund a new 16 seat minibus as well as supporting the charity’s day to day running costs.
Beverley Community Lift provides a caring and supportive community transport service. Their mission is to increase access to medical and social activities for people who are unable to use other means of transport.
Supporting isolated people in rural Yorkshire
The charity supports elderly, disabled and rurally isolated people who cannot easily access other forms of transport. The charity’s services – which operate in Beverley, Cottingham, Holme- upon-Spalding-Moor, Pocklington and Market Weighton – offer the chance to socialise and maintain independence.
As well as helping people access the shops or doctors, the charity also organises social outings such as a trip to the theatre or a stately home.
We’re really grateful for this support to help our services in Holme-upon-Spalding-Moor, Pocklington and Market Weighton which is provided by volunteers. Rural transport is so crucial for many people and this donation helps to keep our prices affordable for the residents who rely on us.
