Get Support

Health, care and wellbeing

We help Freemasons and their families to live healthier and more active lives, by funding medical assessments, treatment, and mobility equipment, and support for carers where there is a long NHS wait and self-funding is not an option.

Our grants can fund or part-fund:

  • Initial consultations
  • Investigative tests and scans
  • Surgery
  • Physiotherapy
  • Manual therapy
  • Speech therapy
  • Occupational therapy assessments
  • Mobility equipment
  • Home adaptations
  • Motability vehicle support
  • Dental work
  • Mental health support
  • Short breaks for carers

This is not an exhaustive list of the support available, and all support is considered on a case by case basis.

Visit our RMBI page to learn more about residential care for older Freemasons and their families.

The MCF paid for my hernia and tumour to be operated on, and now I feel great! I’ve re-gained a lot of my mobility and independence and I can walk without pain.

Mental health support

We offer access to a counselling service and may also be able to assist with more complex mental health support.

Can we help you?

Our health grants are affordability tested and applicants must have sought support from the NHS or their local authority.

Medical treatment

Those seeking private medical treatment must have visited their GP or other medical consultant and had their need for treatment confirmed.

We can also fund an initial medical consultation to define a health need and suggested treatment.

Home adaptations

Those seeking home adaptations must have an occupational therapist assessment which confirms their need.

Those seeking an occupational therapist assessment must be facing a wait of more than 8 weeks from their local authority.

Mobility equipment

Those seeking mobility equipment must have a supporting letter from their GP or other health professional which confirms their need.

Short breaks for carers

We help to alleviate the strain on carers with grants to assist with:

  • Domiciliary respite care
  • Residential respite care
  • Day centre care

Those seeking respite care must be carrying out full-time unpaid care for a family member or friend. Our grants are intended to supplement any support that is available from the local authority.

Carers who are not receiving support should get in touch with their local authority to arrange a carers assessment. Our respite care grants are means tested.
