Carers Week is an annual campaign marked in June, to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities.

A carer is someone who provides a substantial amount of unpaid care and support to someone who has a disability or long-term care need. It isn’t someone who volunteers or is employed to provide support.

To recognise Carers Week, some of our colleagues who either are, or have been carers have shared their stories.

We would like to also recognise the amazing work carried out by the wonderful colleagues in our RMBI care homes who provide dedicated care and support for our residents and their families.

Our AST

The Advice and Support team offer essential help and advice to Freemasons and their families in the community. Many of the people they support are carers or in receipt of care and as a result the AST have a wealth of knowledge in this area.

Starting on the care journey can be daunting, and even experienced carers often have questions.
