April 2025 marks a proud and meaningful milestone for the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF, the Freemasons’ charity). We’re celebrating nine incredible years since our formation — nearly a decade of supporting communities, changing lives, and continuing a long-standing tradition of Masonic compassion and care.

A Rich History of Helping Others

Charity has always been a cornerstone of Freemasonry. For over 300 years, Freemasons have supported a wide range of charitable causes, all with a shared purpose of helping those in need.

The MCF was established in 2016 by bringing together the strengths and legacies of four major Masonic charities:

  • The Freemasons’ Grand Charity
  • The Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys
  • The Masonic Samaritan Fund
  • The Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution

Each played a vital role in shaping the support offered to individuals and families. United as the MCF, their work continues — more unified, more impactful, and more accessible than ever before.

Making a Difference Every Day

Since day one, the MCF has provided life-changing support — from medical grants and mental health services to educational opportunities and care for the elderly. We’ve reached thousands of people across England, Wales, and beyond, empowering individuals and strengthening communities.

To celebrate our ninth anniversary, we’ve created a special birthday video featuring messages from our dedicated staff and heartfelt stories from those we’ve helped along the way. It’s a tribute to the power of kindness and the lasting difference we can make when we come together.

Looking Ahead with Gratitude

This milestone is a celebration of everyone who’s been part of the MCF story — our donors, volunteers, staff, partner organisations, and the Freemasons whose generosity continues to drive our mission forward.

Thank you for helping us build nine remarkable years of support and impact. Here’s to continuing that journey — and to the lives we’ll change in the years to come.

Happy 9th Birthday, MCF!
